Three years in and even though we have Emilie now we had to go celebrate ourselves. A couple of day before I found out that RoboCup was in town, and even though my wife might not be the biggest techno buff she allowed a couple of hours there.
RoboCup is WorldCup for robots. The smartest robot builders in the world compete in all sorts of disciplines. The main one being football. I think the goal is to actually compete against a real human team one day but at current its hard for these little critters to walk – not to mention kick the ball. Even though is was really good fun seeing what we have achieved with robots, and how far we have to go to be anywhere near the scifi we see at the movies.
Now my wife was a good sport and did in fact enjoy some of it, so on my part I kept it short and then we raced to VivoCity to catch the new Toy Story in Gold Class.
Very good movie and super day it turned out to be.
